A little over a year ago, I posted this blog “In Chimachoy as it is in Heaven” and shared about the ministry that God had given to my team in the first month of my own World Race.

Now, I am back in Guatemala, living on the AIM base with Gap W.  Each team has been given a different ministry during our time in Guatemala. To my delight, my team (Team Naya) was assigned to Dar Para Dar, the same ministry that I worked with last year!! It’s an honor to get to return to the same places that my team had served in last year and get to follow up with the people who God had allowed us to love. Bringing Team Naya to Prayer Mountain and Chimachoy for the first time was so special.

Last year, God had given us so much vision for Chimachoy, and the ministries that we started are still being sustained and are growing, too! We had started a kids club at the school, and that continues to this day! It’s now become even more of a sports ministry. The kids have their own jersey’s and play against neighboring towns. They continue to be loved and discipled both by World Race teams and by local Guatemalans who choose to consistently serve there. Last year, we prayed for God’s healing and provision over a family and their daughter, Elizabeth. This year, we returned to find that someone had given the finances needed for a home for them, and it will be completed in two weeks! Please continue to pray for Elizabeth’s healing of her mind and body. Last year, I got to know and love a woman named Mari and her family. This year, we returned and visited her home, and her heart was so deeply moved by our presence and love for her. She’s generously invited Team Naya over to share a meal, and will teach us how to make tortillas. We can’t wait! Discipleship of women was on my heart last year for Chimachoy, and I count it a privilege and joy to return and follow up with women I love in this village.

I’m so excited to continue ministering to the people of Chimachoy during our time here. Please pray for opportunities to continue discipleship! It’s also such a blessing to partner again with Dar Para Dar. These ministry hosts were some of the most influential hosts to me on my Race. I’m excited to see how my girls learn from them, too. Please pray that they’d continue to desire to soak up the wisdom and insight that our hosts have to share. We are also partnering with an Academy of Future Leaders in Parramos, Guatemala. We visit twice a week for a Bible study and English classes. Please join me in prayer for fruitful conversations and that we could love them well.

Guatemala is such a special place. I’ve had deep encounters with Jesus here and have seen ministry be so fruitful. I thank God that He’s brought me back and I am excited to partner with him as he does a new thing during our time here! Leaving all expectations at the foot of the cross, I look forward to seeing how he moves!

Thank you for partnering with me in prayer! I’m grateful. You matter to God, so you matter to me! Let me know how I can lift you up in prayer.

  1. Absolutely lovely to hear all that God has brought full circle in your time in Guate! Remaining in prayer for you all as you continue the good work in Chimachoy!
